For an emergency, **call 911**. **Aspen Valley Hospital** at 401 Castle Creek Road has a **24/7 emergency department** and is a **Level III Trauma Center**. For ski injuries and other non-life-threatening problems, the **Snowmass Village clinic** in Base Village takes **walk-ins 7 days a week, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., all year**, with X-ray on site.

## Aspen Valley Hospital

- **Where**: 401 Castle Creek Road, Aspen, a few minutes from downtown.
- **Emergency**: 24/7 emergency department; Level III Trauma Center. Call 911 first for anything serious.

## Snowmass Village clinic

- **Hours**: 7 days a week, all year, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., including holidays. No appointment needed.
- **Where**: 77 Wood Road, Suite N200, Base Village, with its own parking and on-mountain access. 970-544-1518.
- **For**: Sports injuries, fractures, cuts, strains and altitude sickness; X-ray, limited lab and physical therapy, backed by the hospital's emergency department.

## Altitude sickness

About one in four visitors sleeping above 8,000 feet at Colorado resorts has some altitude sickness, usually a headache in the first day or two.
