On Snowmass, **The Cabin** is reached only by **snowcat** after dusk, from a 6 p.m. departure at Base Village. Winter 2026–27 dates and prices are not yet published; figures from 2025–26 are labelled as such. ## Pine Creek Cookhouse, by horse-drawn sleigh - **Where**: 12500 Castle Creek Road, about 11 miles from Aspen, past the historic ghost town of Ashcroft. No cell service up the valley. - **How you arrive**: Horse-drawn sleigh, cross-country skis or snowshoes. The wooden sleighs carry 15 to 18 guests behind Percheron draft horses. - **Departures**: Sleighs leave at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for lunch and 6 to 6:15 p.m. for dinner, by reservation only. - **Price**: In 2025–26 dinner by sleigh was $195 per adult ($235 from December 21 to January 5), before drinks, service and tax; lunch by sleigh $135 ($170 peak). ## The Cabin at Snowmass, by snowcat - **How it works**: On select evenings a snowcat leaves the fire pit in Snowmass Base Village at 6 p.m. and climbs to The Cabin (Lynn Britt Cabin), in the woods on Snowmass. - **The dinner**: A seasonal menu of shared plates and three courses, with a full bar. The snowcat brings you back down at 9:30 p.m. - **Private dinners**: Aspen Snowmass catering arranges private dinner events on the mountain for groups. ## Which one, for whom Pine Creek is the one for a family or a first winter in Aspen: horses, blankets, a long valley and a meal at the end.
