# Private jets to Aspen in 2027

Aspen/Pitkin County Airport is **closed from 11 p.m. April 4 until 7 p.m. November 19, 2027** for runway reconstruction: **no commercial or private flights**. Private jets use **Eagle County (EGE)**, with customs for private aircraft, or **Rifle (RIL)**, a 7,000-foot runway with two FBOs. ## The alternatives

- **Eagle County (EGE)**: 9,000-foot runway at 6,547 feet; customs for private aircraft at the Vail Valley Jet Center, so it suits flights from Mexico and abroad. About 70 miles from Aspen.
- **Rifle (RIL)**: 7,000-foot runway; two FBOs, Rifle Jet Center and Atlantic Aviation. About 60 miles from Aspen.
- **Grand Junction (GJT)**: About 125 miles; a longer drive.
- **Denver**: Everything flies there, but it's about four hours by road.

## The drive in summer
