Privacy Policy

The short version

We do not use cookies, advertising trackers or third-party analytics. We measure how the site is used with our own simple tool, which records anonymous events and never stores your IP address. We only learn who you are when you choose to write to us, send a stay request or sign up for updates, and we use that to reply to you. We do not sell your information.

How we measure the site

When you view a page, a small script of our own sends an anonymous event to our measurement service. It records:

• the page you viewed (its path, such as /x-games-aspen/);
• where the visit came from: the kind of source (for example a search engine, an AI assistant, social media or email) and the referring website's name, plus any campaign tags in the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign);
• a few actions on the page: reading 75% of it, opening an item in Discover Aspen, following a link to another website (we record only that site's name), adding something to your stay, sending a stay request, and subscribing to updates (with the topic);
• whether this browser has visited before.

To tell visits apart without cookies, the script keeps two random codes in your browser: one in local storage that lasts until you clear it (ap_v), and one for the current session only (ap_s). They contain nothing about you and are not linked to your name, email or phone.

Our measurement service does not store IP addresses. It reads your IP address only briefly, in memory, to stop abuse by limiting how many events one address can send in a minute; it is never written to our database.

Opting out. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the script does nothing: no events and no stored codes. You can also clear this site's storage in your browser settings at any time.

Add to Stay

The items you add to your stay are saved only in your own browser (local storage, under ap_stay_v1) so the list is still there when you come back. The list itself stays with you until you choose to send a stay request; our measurement only notes, anonymously, which item was added.

When you write to us

If you send a stay request, use the contact form or ask for updates on a topic, we receive what you enter: typically your name, an email address or phone number, your message, dates and party size if you give them, the items in your stay, and the page you sent it from. Update sign-ups send your email address and the topic you chose.

We use this to reply, to plan and arrange what you ask for, and, for updates, to send you news on that topic only. You can stop updates at any time by replying or writing to us.

These forms are delivered by Formspree, a form service that passes your submission to our email. Our email and our internal planning records hold the conversation from then on.

Other services that see your visit

• Hosting. The website is hosted by Hostinger and our measurement service runs on Render. Like any web host, they may keep standard technical logs of requests, which can include IP addresses, under their own practices.
• Fonts. Some of our typefaces load from Google Fonts. When they load, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information.
• Forms. Formspree processes what you submit through our forms, as described above.
• Links. Links to Instagram, LinkedIn and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.

We share your information only with these providers to run the site and reply to you, or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep messages and requests for as long as we need them to look after you and to keep ordinary business records. We have not yet set an automatic deletion period for anonymous measurement events; until we do, they are kept in anonymous form. We will update this page when that changes.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information you have sent us, or to stop hearing from us, by writing to paul@aspenprive.com. Because measurement events are anonymous, we cannot look them up by your name; clearing this site's storage in your browser starts you afresh, and a privacy signal stops measurement entirely.
