A family float and a whitewater trip are different purchases. The right rafting day depends on ages, confidence in the water, current flows and how much of the day you want away from Aspen. The river operator determines the route and suitability; I can coordinate the Aspen arrangements around the confirmed outing.

Say clearly that the group is inexperienced. Ask about the actual section, current conditions, swim requirements and how the operator briefs guests.
Give every child’s age and relevant size information. Minimums can change with the route and water levels; a general family label is not enough.
Share previous rafting experience and the level the group genuinely wants. Avoid choosing a harder trip for guests who feel obliged to agree.
Ask whether a private departure is available, how boats and guides are allocated, and which items are included. No private allocation is assumed.
Local operators such as Elk Mountain Expeditions publish rafting and river options in the Aspen area. Different departures may use different meeting points and river sections. Get the address and full itinerary from the operator rather than assume a trip begins beside your residence.
A longer journey down the valley changes the day. Check total time away, changing facilities, meal arrangements and the ride back. The itinerary should include the unglamorous but useful details: dry clothes, footwear and where valuables will stay.
Leave enough time to return, shower and change. For a mixed group, make the shared dinner later than the actual return estimate, with a workable buffer. If you need transport, tell me before the activity is confirmed.
Send dates, guest ages, experience, preferred pace, accommodation address and any onward booking that constrains the day. We coordinate only the agreed Aspen services. The independent outfitter provides the trip; no supplier relationship, exact price or guaranteed river condition is implied.
No. The operator’s age, size, experience and current-condition requirements determine suitability.
You can ask the operator, but it must confirm the actual boat and departure arrangement.
No. An independent outfitter operates the trip; we plan the Aspen logistics around it.
The operator decides the safe and available route. Confirm its substitution and cancellation terms before booking.
