Best breakfast in Aspen

Where to eat breakfast in Aspen, sorted by what kind of morning it is: a sit-down stack of pancakes, something fast before the first chair, or a long slow one.

Aspen's breakfast is mostly small and local. Poppycock's has served its oatmeal pancakes since 1971; Paradise Bakery opens at 6:30 a.m.; Silvers boils and bakes New York-style bagels in the old Jour de Fête space; Bonnie's serves pancakes mid-mountain. Few of them take reservations, so the trick is timing. We live here. If you'd rather breakfast arrived at the house, we arrange that too.

Hours below are what each restaurant publishes, checked October 2, 2026. Aspen restaurants shorten hours or close for parts of the spring and fall off-season, and set winter hours around ski-area opening day, so confirm the week you arrive. Jour de Fête, long a breakfast standby at 710 E. Durant, closed at the end of January 2025; Silvers now occupies the address.

First morning, at the house

After a late arrival or with altitude to adjust to, breakfast in the rental beats a queue. See your first 48 hours.

Off-season

In late October–November and April–May, several places shorten hours or close for a few weeks. Check the week you arrive.
