X Games returns to Buttermilk, January 29–31, 2027, the 26th year in Aspen and the season opener of the new X Games League. Daytime competition is free until 4 p.m.; evening finals and the concerts need a ticket. There is no parking at Buttermilk, and it is one of the busiest weekends of the Aspen winter.

Shuttles run from Ruby Park, the bus station in downtown Aspen. RFTA Park & Ride lots serve the valley: Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, El Jebel, Basalt and Willits.
Pick-up and drop-off is at Owl Creek Road and East Buttermilk Road. After the evening finals, demand spikes as thousands leave at once; a car booked in advance is the difference between a five-minute and a fifty-minute wait.
A standard backpack at most (22 × 14 × 9 inches); small coolers and diaper bags are screened. No alcohol, chairs, drones or pets. It's outdoors, rain or shine: dress for a January night at 8,000 feet, and bring a bottle for the refill stations.
X Games weekend fills Aspen and Snowmass. Lodging, airport cars and restaurant tables go weeks in advance.
Many visitors ski in the morning and watch free daytime finals, then go back for the evening session. The lift-ticket add-on makes that easy.
General admission is standing room in the cold; the Gold Lounge adds a heated space, food and drinks. With children or older guests, that difference matters by 9 p.m.
X Fest carries brand activations, and the weekend draws press, athletes and creators. If you're bringing a team, the residence, cars and dinners are the hard part to secure.

Daytime is free until 4 p.m. Evening competition and the concerts need a ticket: general admission 3-day passes start at $159 and Gold Lounge passes at $1,150.
You don't: there is no parking at Buttermilk. Use the shuttle from Ruby Park in Aspen, a RFTA Park & Ride, or a car dropping at Owl Creek Road and East Buttermilk Road.

A standard backpack up to 22 × 14 × 9 inches, plus screened small coolers or diaper bags. Alcohol, folding chairs, drones and pets are not allowed.
