Aspen ski season 2026–27: opening and closing dates

The official season, what has not been announced yet, and how last season opened and closed mountain by mountain.

Aspen Snowmass has announced that the resort will be open November 26, 2026 through April 18, 2027. Opening and closing dates for each of the four mountains have not yet been announced.

Below is what is confirmed, what last season looked like mountain by mountain, and the dates that matter for planning, including the Aspen airport closure that begins before the season ends. Checked September 28, 2026.

What the pattern means for a trip

Thanksgiving

In 2025–26 Aspen Mountain and Snowmass opened on November 24, just before Thanksgiving, and Highlands and Buttermilk on December 13. Thanksgiving in Aspen

Closing weeks

In 2025–26 Buttermilk closed first (April 5) and Aspen Mountain last (April 19). With the airport closed from April 4, 2027, late-season trips will fly into Eagle, Rifle or Grand Junction. Spring skiing
