The best luxury hotels in Aspen

Aspen's top hotels by their independent credentials and by who each one suits, and when a private house is the better answer.

By independent credentials, The Little Nell is Aspen's only Forbes Five-Star hotel, The St. Regis Aspen is Four-Star, and The Little Nell, Hotel Jerome and MOLLIE Aspen each hold a Michelin Key (2026). The right one depends less on the rating than on how your group wants to ski, eat and sleep.

Ratings are from Forbes Travel Guide and the MICHELIN Guide. We list no prices or rankings of our own and have no commercial arrangement with any hotel. Checked October 2, 2026. For neighborhoods, see where to stay in Aspen.

When a private house is the better answer

Groups and families

Several bedrooms, a kitchen and privacy usually favor a house for larger groups.

Taxes differ

The service gap

A hotel has a front desk; a house needs someone to prepare it, stock it and look after it. Renting a house

Hotel or house

We handle Aspen either way

In a hotel, we handle the car from the airport, skis fitted, and the evenings. In a house, we make it ready before you arrive and bring in a private chef. You keep the relationship with the hotel; we handle the rest. Ask us.
