Jackson Hole is in Wyoming: the resort lists about eight hours by road from Denver and five from Salt Lake City, so almost everyone flies into JAC. Aspen is about four hours from Denver in winter, or a short flight into ASE.
ASE is a few minutes from town, with commercial and private flights. It closes April 4 to November 19, 2027 for runway work, so late-season spring trips should check dates. Airport closure.
A Victorian mining town with a real year-round life: restaurants led by a Michelin star, galleries, the Aspen Art Museum and a late après scene. Aspen restaurants.
A western town 12 miles from the resort, with Teton Village at the base. Strong lodging and a growing dining scene; the evenings are quieter than Aspen's.
