From eighty degrees to eight thousand feet in about four hours. You keep the relationship. We handle Aspen.
Miami and Aspen share a winter. The same families, the same executives and often the same households move between the two, and the people who plan for them, executive assistants, family offices, travel advisors and aviation contacts, end up solving the same Aspen problems every December.
This page is for that corridor. It covers the flight briefly and the arrival honestly, then what actually makes or breaks a week in Aspen: the residence, the drivers, the tables, the mountain and the children. If you plan for someone else, you keep the relationship. We handle Aspen, on the ground, here.
ASE closes from 11:00 p.m. on April 4, 2027 until 7:00 p.m. on November 19, 2027 for runway reconstruction, with no commercial or private flights. This winter is unaffected. For spring, summer or autumn 2027, private flights land at Rifle or Eagle and the drive into Aspen becomes part of the trip, which is exactly the part we arrange. What the closure changes.
Altitude. You land at nearly eight thousand feet with no time to adjust. Headaches and poor first-night sleep are common. Water, a light first evening and an easy first morning do more than anything else; oxygen can be waiting at the residence. The first 48 hours.
The cold, and the gear. Most South Florida closets do not hold ski clothing for children. Rather than packing it, we have skis, boots and helmets fitted at the residence, and can arrange outerwear before you land.
The holiday peak. Christmas and New Year are when the Miami and Aspen seasons overlap most, and when Aspen is fullest. Chefs for the 24th and 25th, ski instructors for holiday week and the best New Year's Eve tables are committed early. The useful time to start is autumn, not December.
The weather at the airport. Winter arrivals into Aspen sometimes divert to Rifle, Eagle or Grand Junction. A diversion is a ground problem: the answer is a vehicle already heading to the alternate.
Aspen Privé is a local team in Aspen. These are the things we arrange for Miami families and executives, and for the people who plan their trips.
We follow the flight, meet you at the aircraft and keep drivers and vehicles for the stay, sized to the group and the luggage. If the flight lands at Rifle or Eagle, we are already on the way. Private drivers.
Heat on, groceries stocked, beds and cribs set, oxygen if wanted, all before you land. Grocery stocking.
Rental gear fitted at the residence, lift tickets, private instructors and ski school for the children. Private instructors · ski rental delivery.
Reservations at the restaurants that are hard to get in holiday weeks, and dinners at the residence. Where to eat.
A chef for the stay or for one night, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Private chefs.
Babysitters and nannies for evenings out and ski days. Childcare.
Tables, après and the late evenings, arranged and with a driver waiting. Aspen nightlife.
Snowmobile and powder days, in-home massage, celebrations, proposals, and the requests that fit no category. Ask anyway.
We coordinate licensed local providers for each of these; where a service needs a specific license or qualification, we confirm it for the booking rather than promise it in advance.
Paul Montiel, who runs Aspen Privé, was born in Miami and still has his people there. He now lives in Aspen and runs the team on the ground. That means two things for a Miami family or the office that plans for them: someone who understands how you live at home, and someone who is physically here when the flight lands, the snow comes in or the plan changes at nine at night.
Whoever flies you, whoever books the house and whoever already looks after the family, we work alongside them. You keep the relationship. We handle Aspen.
Aircraft reposition empty in and out of Aspen around the holiday peaks. If your dates have some flexibility, we can watch the Miami ↔ Aspen route for you and tell you when a suitable empty leg appears. We do not hold inventory and will not pretend to. How empty legs work, and how to ask us to watch your route.
By private jet, roughly three hours forty-five minutes to four and a half hours westbound from the South Florida private fields, depending on aircraft and winds; the return is usually faster. There is no scheduled nonstop airline service between Miami and Aspen, so commercial travelers connect, which makes it a full travel day.
Most trips leave from Miami-Opa Locka Executive (OPF). Miami Executive (TMB) suits the south of the county, Fort Lauderdale Executive (FXE) or Fort Lauderdale (FLL) the north, and Palm Beach (PBI) the Palm Beach season. Air time to Aspen is nearly identical; the choice is about ground time in South Florida.
Aspen/Pitkin County Airport closes from 11:00 p.m. on April 4, 2027 until 7:00 p.m. on November 19, 2027 for runway reconstruction. Winter 2026 to 2027 is not affected. During the closure, private flights use Rifle (RIL) or Eagle County (EGE) and the trip includes a drive of roughly an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half.
Aspen sits at 7,908 feet. Coming from Miami, the first 48 hours matter most: drink more water than feels necessary, go easy on alcohol the first night, and keep the first day gentle. Supplemental oxygen can be delivered to the residence before you land. Anyone with heart or lung conditions should ask their doctor before the trip.
Yes. Paul Montiel, who runs Aspen Privé, was born in Miami and works in English and Spanish. Families, staff and planners can coordinate in whichever language is easier.
We can. We bring back quotes from FAA-certificated Part 135 operators and book the one you choose as your agent; the operator, which holds operational control, is named in your quote. Many of our clients already have an aircraft, a card or a broker, and that is fine: we take the Aspen side either way.
